www.tirerack.com Driving in the US and Canada vs. Europe or Asia is very different. The condition of our roads, the mix of urban driving plus extended highway cruising and even consumer preference vary. Continental Tire recognizes this as they develop tires tuned specifically for North American drivers. To find out how well their most recent example, the ExtremeContact DW, meets the needs of the North American market, Tire Rack compared it to three other Max Performance Summer tires: the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric, Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 and Pirelli’s P Zero.

Simple and straight to the point. It is a shame that different vehicles would produce ‘different’ results. Many of the results were so close that the? average consumer probably wouldn’t know the difference. It would be more helpful if the RRP of each tyre was noted in the video. I am just glad my came came with awesome OEM tyres so I never have to do alot of research when buying tyres. It’s a matter of saving up and buying them. Keep up the good videos.

@vtecbenz
Got a set myself a month ago and love them. So much more comfortable than the stock Bridgestone Potenza’s. Best bargain tire? for daily drives IMO.

@Viking445 Yeah, no performance tire does. The softer it is the more grip but the shorter they last. The trouble is that track tiers are road legal (in a lot of countries, excepting slicks) , so figuring out? when a tire becomes more of a track tire is the hardest thing. Thanks though

None of the tires are rated a 10 Because? its a group test and the scores of the group are averaged…

i just bought the DW (DWS is out of stock everywhere). We don’t get a lot of snow where i? live … I am just hoping the summer tires will not get me killed in freezing temps (not snow). Also hoping the treadrating and low cost of DW is enough of an offest to not make me miss michellen

@dimos47ki7 10 would be the tire they? do not carry, Falken RT-615. I traded my Pilots in for a set of these on my SOLO/Time Attack car in street tire class. OMFG are they insane. Almost as fast as the Hoosier A6/R6 slicks. On the street thery are pretty good too. Good wet traction even at 3/32 tread. As long as it’s not standing water. Added bonus, almost silent on the steet. Except on some paint stripes. Very odd.

so stupid test…
1st of all, if these tires score 8something, which is the tire that scored 10 and they are compared to?
2nd, at UHP tires, comfort and noice are the least important things u looking for…u look for maximum grip, balanced handling, friendly responce to the limit…so for me, out of these 4 tires, Pirelli is the definite winner with best track performance and grip in dry conditions…besides these? are “summer UHP” tires.

how come ther isn’t a single tire that scored a 9 or a 10(in general, not just this comparison)? Aren’t these tires supposed to be the best of the? best, and they are still under 8…

PS2 FTW! what about Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star? Spec? i’ve always had PS2′s on my E36 but i’ve been considering the Dunlops because they’re ~$75 less per rear tire (my rears don’t last long for me) and they seem to have good performance from the tests i’ve seen.
